What a lot of people don't understand is the aspect that ghost hunt brings to the table of horror genre. Before people start talking about horrors like Monster or Serial Experiments Lain, I'm not talking about psychological horror, but just the horror genre itself. This anime gives a more refreshing taste of horror compared to the other try hard series like another, yami shibai or the junji ito animated series that went to trash. This anime's usage of music timed with the every second of the series makes the watchers sit there and get chills because they don't know whats about to happen next. Surea lot of people think the art is mediocre and obviously it isn't the best, but considering when it came out in 2008 I think we can give it some slack, and the fact that the art isn't some kind of 2020 quality crap, they make it up by the coloring and how it visually appeals. The dark coloring in episodes, the deep red foreshadowing or the impending danger that might befall. This anime is super underrated and compared to shows like ones previously mentioned does an amazing job of giving chills because it's a take on horror that doesn't automatically throw random supernatural stuff that doesn't make sense. The anime itself shows how much research went into studying about the supernatural and making it an interesting show to watch. People who expect some kind of top tier quality like it's some kind of 5* Michelin restaurant is sadly mistaken. This anime took a risk on trying to portray horror in a more informational way is a high risk yet high reward factor, and they delivered in every single way possible.
