Net-juu no Susume was the standard romance-comedy most may be accustomed to seeing but it had some little changes to that formula here and there to differentiate itself from its contemporaries. Where this anime really excels in though is in its execution. It kept a really good consistency in its quality throughout its run time which was slightly shorter than usual at ten episodes. The story centers around the 30 year old Moriko as she withdraws from society and begins to interact with people in the online world of games where she feels more comfortable. It is interesting to note that the potential romance that takesplace with the main pair in the story are between two grown adults so that in itself lends itself to differences in how the story will be handled with the caveat being that both of them are socially awkward people. While I thought everything ended of nicely in the show, I thought it would have benefited greatly if the side characters maybe got a little more development seeing as some potential story lines were already set up from early on.
I thought the art style was well done in that it was very colorful yet I didn't feel like it was overdone. The soundtrack for the most part was unnoticeable but at the very least I can't say that it was bad.
Net-juu no Susume had a nice cast of characters. Moriko was very adorable and funny in all her awkward glory. Yuuta has a heart of gold which matched his various online personas. Homare has a good and infectious kind of personality and is the best wingman Yuuta could ever ask for. The rest of characters that didn't get much development within the season are all likable in their own right.
I got a lot of enjoyment from this show and it was a nice show to look forward to each week. If you're looking for a new rom-com to watch then I recommend that you give Net-juu no Susume a try.
