Nisekoi is a light-hearted harem, which can be enjoyable to a lot of people. The story is very basic, as with most harems, but that might also be one of the reasons why it attracts so many people. It has this tendency to make you feel at ease, you just relax with the characters, the light-hearted jokes, and the soft hints at romance. Calling them hints would not entirely justify them, but to say that there's 'real' romance in here would be exaggerated. It has this tendency to break up every single meaningful attempt at romance, something apparent in a lot of harems. I suppose that ifthere would be actual decisions, the show would end rather soon, but this does make it somewhat unsatisfying at times.

The characters are portrayed rather well, each one having a very distinct personality. Therefore I wouldn't really say there's a whole lot of character development, but then again, that's not really needed if the story doesn't progress.

Overall it is an enjoyable experience. Your typical harem, you can be the judge on whether you would enjoy such a show or not.
