Right off the first episode I was enjoying this anime , the music was so good. had me hyped up for more , and then it kind of fell from there. The anime is still decent however it was either poorly written and very rush. The plot is interesting but you'll only understand parts of it and have more questions than answers. Character development is non-existent except for a side character which in all honesty I seriously could care less about. With that said the anime is still watchable and keeps it interesting until the last few episodes. Story is pretty interesting , the setting takesplace in New York city however 3 years ago a gate opened , merging New York city with the other-world bringing in monster races , vampires , supernatural to the screen. Humans and monster live together in this city now known as Hellsalem's Lot. The story follows a boy who's got the power of the "all seeing eyes". however saying that it follows that character is kinda exaggerated. he doesn't get a lot of screen time which brings me into.

Character Development is seriously poorly written , the only likable character in this anime is Klaus. Every other is character feels bland in comparison. They gave almost an entire episode to a character that we only saw once , so that episode felt like a filler , and almost another one to a cringe "past story" so that we can understand that character more. but in reality the anime needed those episodes and possibly more to improve the state of their boring characters that we know almost nothing about.

The music on the other hand prob some of the best I've heard the use of a jazzy music in this setting was awesome and very much appreciated. I found myself often tapping to the beat of the songs. Very good score there.

Overall the anime left me with more questions than answers in its time on the screen however hopefully when I watch the second season I will give it a better score. Its seriously feels like the anime got rushed and skipped a lot of chapters , for that reason I would probably tell people to look for a review of someone who has read the manga. If however the manga is the same has the anime I would tell you to look for a better anime than this one. The anime is still watchable but very unsatisfying has the story keeps progressing when we know nothing about the characters. If and when a character dies and only thing you feel is "meh"... 6/10
