Review of Darwin's Game

Let's be honest here many of us like this series some of us hate this series. But we can all agree that the story is all over the place. The game itself is unbalanced to the point of hilarity with some characters getting OP abilities while others get abilities that we either don't see or are so appallingly underwhelming no one bothers to talk about them. Our MC struggles occasionally with fights just to win by virtue of the enemy doing nothing or having a complete brain fart. all in all the story is slightly more "holey" than your average swiss-cheese. So why is myoverall a 7? read on and you will find out

The character art is decent and the backgrounds are usually varied enough to not get boring. The characters are a mixed bag, our MC is not much of anything really, he goes from being nice to being edgy to being useless to being badass for no apparent reason, apart from the training he does at the end of the show and our main villain for most of the show is pathetic. Our other main characters are what makes the characters good overall. We have Shuka, who wouldn't like Shuka? clearly the waifu of the series and she is just quirky enough to not be grating. We have Rein the young intellectual who is a favorite of mine and lastly on the female side we have Sui who could be good if they had put her into 2 bodies instead of 1. Souta, they should have just been twins I would have liked both of them. Since our MC is a nothing character we are left with Maesaka and Hiiragi who are both fairly solid characters for the episodes they are in.

The OST is good, some of the fight scenes are really enhanced by the soundtrack and overall it usually tries to set the mood since the story is so lackluster. Can't remember either the opening or the ending.

For overall i will start by giving the anime a 4, it gets a +1 for Shuka a +1 for Rein and a +1 for the badass main theme for a grand total of 7
