Review of Dan Da Dan
Simply goated. Dandadan is the type of anime that comes along once every ten years or so, an anime that changed the entire form of media with it's powerful influence. Well-deserved critical acclaim, well-adapted from the manga, (which is also simply fantastic.) and funny. I cannot recommend this anime enough. I must have watched it 11 or 12 times over at this point, and I rarely watch things more than once, back to back. I also binged the entire anime, it gripped me so intensely that I could not put it down, I lost sleep, and would take none of it back. Art: 10/10 The art iswell adapted from the anime, brings justice to the original work while expressing it's own flavour. Absolutely gripping and visually satisfying, the animation tactics used for conveying how fast characters run, how their facial expressions are, and how even the static characters appear posed is nothing short of justice. Well rounded, absolutely no complaints.
Story: 10/10
A gripping story that yanks the typical tropes and flips them on their head. Slow burn romance, fleshed out characters that have good motivations, believable backstories, and heart-wrenching moments that move the audience are all over the place. Anime has always been a fantastic medium for believable and understandable villains that occasionally join the main cast, Dandadan not only does this in a refreshing way, but does so in a way that makes your heart explode. Aliens and Ghosts abound, truly a fascinating watch for skeptics and believers alike.
Sound: 10/10
Not a single complaint. The budget shows in all aspects of the recording, well chosen voice actors for the sub and the dubs. Sound effects and music are well chosen and convey the meaning and moods very well.
