Review of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc
I really never liked Demon Slayers - I found season 1 grotesque, the only thing decent being its animation. People were talking about the famous episode 19 - the episode that destroyed the internet. I racked myself through all these boring and illogical episodes up to episode 19. It was good but plot-wise quite underwhelming. The show didn't get better but screaming crybabies were added time and time after. This season, however, pleasantly surprised me. It convinced even me, someone, who disliked the show. I was really looking forward to the next episode every week. Well, the beginning was kind of lackluster but around the middle ofthe season, the action starts coming and it becomes really enjoyable. Granted, Zenitsu being asleep helped.
Indeed, the design of the main enemy was freaking cool and diverse. As always, the Hashira was chill and even characters like Zenitsu were shining, but yeah, mainly because he was asleep. Nezuko was a star in this show, there is no question and the animation was just amazing.
On the other hand, I think the setting itself is not that interesting and really the only good thing is the action. I also absolutely dislike the power scaling - our three rookies are doing way too much for their inexperience, especially Tanjirou. Was Naruto able to take on Itachi in the first season? Of course, not. But in Demon Slayers, the scaling just seems off.
But the fights and demons were awesome and really makes us wonder: What will the stronger demons be like?
