It's an enjoyable show with good values and themes about what is truly important in a person's life and the idea that one should not be bound by expectations. The greatest strength of this show is the relationships between characters. Unfortunately the last few episodes besides the very last one have bad pacing, not very well executed, and somewhat contradictory of previously established character development and motivations. Theodora is the weakest character due to the fact that at the near end her actions contradict her statements about free will from blessings from a previous episode. At times some plot details aren't elaborated at all andjust skipped over, such as characters somehow finding their way to what was established as hard to find ruin, and never explains how exactly how they actually found it. At the end, some dragons pop into a fight with no explanation, but it could be inferred that Ares was the one that summoned them.

There are times in the show when plot details are surprisingly consistent and make sense with the world building that was developed over the course of the beginning, but unfortunately the last few episodes kinda just threw that consistency away. The flashbacks particularly in the first few episodes go on for a bit too long, and even take up the entire episode. These flashbacks could have possibly been edited a bit better and shortened in particular parts of episodes, it's understandable that they were meant to establish character's personalities and relationships.

These flaws in the shows could attributed to the limited time budget and runtime as it was adapted from a light novel. This anime shined in its strengths but at the cost of having to sacrifice the climax of its plot.
Besides these flaws, it was a fun and heartwarming watch.
