Spoiler warning

This review may discuss plot details.

This story is definitely not for everyone. While I didn't find the characters or storyline particularly compelling, I understand that others might. One of the male leads is a pretty terrible person; the other is blinded by love. There is some character growth, which is more than can be said for a lot of BL stories, although the characters remain firmly "themselves" through and through. The biggest reason people may not enjoy this story is that much of the story revolves around consent issues. There is a sex scene where one character has sex with another due to mistaken identity, and this is never acknowledgedas a violation. Later, there is extremely graphic and sadistic sexual assault. It is handled indelicately and voyeuristically, and there are no consequences towards the perpetrator (including socially). If a lack of consent is an issue, then this is DEFINITELY not for you.

On the other hand, this is a work of erotic fiction. When viewed as a work of sadomasochistic fetish art, one can be more forgiving of its toxic and unpleasant traits, as they are features, rather than bugs. While it's not for me, I still appreciate that it's a transgressive work which appeals to a specific audience. If you're not part of that audience, I wouldn't bother reading this manga. If you are, it might be your cup of tea.
