Infidelity 101 · review
Yikes... Ok, look. I'm gonna be honest with you so that there are no misunderstandings upfront. This is an NTR manhwa. That shouldn't be too surprising, of course, given that this series is literally called "Infidelity 101" or "Illicit Love," but in case you had any misgivings about that, that's the reality of the situation. In fact, this is a pornhwa that involves a metric fuckton of cucking, so if you're the type of person who's bothered by that or otherwise becomes irrationally angry at the thought of it then you MUST steer clear of this for your own sanity. With that out of the way, let's talk about this and the other reason why you should steer clear of Jiro's mess: Infidelity 101 is simply not good. Period. It's just not, and there really aren't many ways to sugarcoat it and make the inverse sound true. I'm not exactly what you would call an "NTR hater" like some people are (I personally don't care much for these types of stories one way or another), but this one is uniquely bad for a number of reasons.
For one thing, the characters in this are all absolutely terrible; the entire plot premise is beyond stupid. In the interest of not spoiling anything, I won't directly discuss the catalyst behind the events of this work but it's really just so silly that even the average professional porn film has a more believable plot line than this from start to finish. Nobody ever seems to behave in a way that makes any actual sense in Infidelity 101. Characters will get developed somewhat nicely, leading you to possibly like (or dislike) them more, only for them to routinely betray their own earlier characterization and act in irrational, nonsensical ways, especially when interacting with Jungwoo, the main antagonist. I know that infidelity, whether taking place in real life or in fiction, is rarely a straightforward or perfectly logical affair but MAN this is just terrible. I don't know what Jiro thought she was cooking with this but she seems to have burned down the kitchen, not gonna lie.
I don't even know how you can screw up this badly. It's actually an incredible feat to write a story this bad when you consider the fact that anywhere from 70-85% of any given chapter is just porn. There's barely any story to even write about! Funnily enough, our poor MC Shihoo isn't exactly a standup guy himself among these cast members, but he somehow, amazingly, manages to be one of the least shitty, annoying people throughout the entire story.
I will give this work credit for two things, though. First of all, the art is incredible. The girls are all incredibly well drawn with very curvaceous proportions and are all pretty easy on the eyes. They are pretty annoying as characters, but they make for good wank material, all things considered. Secondly, this is surprisingly easy to read if the NTR aspect of this doesn't cause you to hyperventilate and keel over. I found myself having a hard time putting this down because I was always wondering where this train wreck would end. All things considered, I'm glad the ending wrapped things up in a way that I can say I'm satisfied with as I really wasn't expecting it to do so in its 75 chapter runtime, but overall that was a pretty shit read nonetheless.
3/10. Awful story and plot premise. Horribly written, inconsistent, and downright unbelievable characters but great art and sex scenes. Don't bother reading this, there's better porn AND romance out there.
