Okay, okay, Papillon Rose is definitely 'so bad it's good' rather than just good, but if you're looking for a hilarious, campy, low-drama watch then Papillon Rose is definitely something I'd recommend. It's a good parody: it has soul and clear love for the source genre. - The story is surprisingly well-written, with narrative arcs and some suggestion of conflict. Sure, everything is resolved within a few episodes, but some of the main cast actually manage to progress as characters - Tsubomi in particular displays a range of emotions, while Anne and the yellow one are more one-note. - The art style is typical of when itwas made, and from an objective standpoint (ie not speaking from personal taste) it's perfectly functional. It doesn't get in the way of the story, although it doesn't really add to the viewer experience either (unless that's a style you really like). Despite slight same face syndrome issues, the main cast are still hard to confuse for one another (mainly because of wacky hairstyles). Also, the character designs are fairly unique and distinct: although they are reliant on design tropes, there is a certain level of innovation. The animation is also fine; the fights are fluid and well-stylised ... although, let's be honest, no one watches this show for the technical skill of the animation team. Similarly, the transformation sequences are quite well done, although I wish Lily and Marguerite got full animated sequences.

- The music/ soundtrack is also fairly good.

Other reviews have gone over most of the flaws, so I feel it is unnecessary to bring them up again.
