A short one-shot with no dialogue, yet visually splendid. First, I have to express my appreciation for the art style, which felt obscure but visually pleasing to me. Art: 10/10. Now let’s look at the symbolism within these few pages. The story focuses on a mother and her daughter who are on the subway. The girl notices that the men around them are staring insistently at her mother’s breasts. After that, things become harder to decipher, but from what I understood from other reviews and from the description on MyAnimeList, the girl is transported to another world (or perhaps she simply imagines it, either way, it worksas a metaphor). There, she has transformed into a mature woman, just like her mother. Then we see a scene in which a woman is pleasuring herself while being watched insistently and lustfully by a man.

The chapter ends with the subway arriving at the station, and the girl and her mother get off and continue on their way.

If you think about it on a deeper level, you realize that this short manga addresses problems of contemporary society and how women are often objectified by those around them simply because of the way they look or the way they dress. The issue of a hypersexualized society is what I believe is being explored here. As can be seen in the final panel, the woman is not even dressed indecently (she is simply wearing a dress) yet that does not stop the men from reducing her to a visual sexual object.

There is also the scene where the woman masturbates, which initially made it difficult for me to understand the message behind it. However, in the end, I think it refers to a woman’s sexual awakening that ultimately becomes fetishized and limited by men to nothing more than a sexual fantasy.

In conclusion, I liked this one-shot, and I do not understand why it has such a low score. The art is beautiful and the issues presented are extremely accurate to modern society. From me it receives an 8/10. I deducted one point because it was confusing at times (especially the scene with the woman masturbating), and another one because the chapter is extremely short.
