Review of Black Butler

I recently re-watched Black Butler for the first time in years, and I was hit with a wave of nostalgia (it was the show that really got me into anime). So I'll be honest, some of the reason I gave this show a high score is pure nostalgia. Anyway, after rewatching this years later, I can still say I love it and that it's genuinely a good show. It's not incredible or revolutionary, but it's definitely worth the time to watch it (especially the newer animations like book of circus, book of murder, etc. - just remember that season 2 is not canon). Story - 7 Like Isaid, the show isn't the most incredible thing story wise, but it's entertaining and has cool plot twists. There are lots of unanswered questions, and quite a few filler episodes, but if you look past these it's a great show.

Art - 9
By today's standards, it's nothing really to brag about. However, in context for the time it was made, it looks great. Some of the really atmospheric scenes are still gorgeous today, and it really fits the story.

Sound - 10
I absolutely love the ost for black butler, and the op and eds are all amazing. The first ed completely catches you off guard, but if fits the more light hearted first half of the show. However, when it changes to Lacrimosa half way, it shows the show getting darker and it's a gorgeous song. Also the op is still one of my faves! I love SID

Character - 8
This is my first review, so I'm assuming this means characters in the show? Well either way, I love all these characters so much, and they're all very likeable to me. I always loved Grell, but I also really love Soma and Agni, as well as the servants!!

Enjoyment - 10
Like I said, it's very nostalgic for me, so that's a big factor. However, overall I just think that you can have a good time watching this show, and waiting for what the next big twist will be in the plot. It never really gets boring.
