Shin Otokogi · review
This is definetly one of my absolute favorite animes of all time, based on genre that is, especially the second OVA. Shin Otokogi OVA 1 is the continuing story of its prequel Otokogi, but instead of following Murata Kyosuke, whose story ended as the main plot in the Third and final OVA of Otokogi, we follow his son, Kyotaro, whose since grown up without his father, chosen his own path, and eventually that path collides with his fathers organization, and his father himself as Kyosuke Murata became, the don of Japans Yakuza, the Boss Of Bosses. The second OVA, follows a little while after the end ofthe first, Kyotaro ended up in prison, but the prison is quite corrupt, and soon he would feel the wrath and tests of his father's power, that reaches beyond the walls of an island prison, and the attempt his father pursues to completely break his sons spirit, so that he would not follow the path of Yakuza like himself, but things take an unexpected turn.
The second OVA has a dialogue depth to it i could not resist to love, it was, in my opinion very deep, very mindbased as depth and emotion, i loved it, i cant say the same for anyone else, but i simply loved it.
At the time of this writing, Both OVAs have recieved their first ever english subtitles, and exist now on Youtube for anyone keen on checking it out, The prequel is also there, all 3 OVAs of Otokogi, the story of his father.
