Review of Solo Leveling Season 2: Arise from the Shadow

If you’re a fan of the manhwa (like me), then you probably went in with high hopes. And to be fair, this anime does a lot right. The animation is slick, the soundtrack goes hard, and Jin-Woo’s glow-up is just as satisfying as you’d expect. A-1 Pictures really knew what they were doing with the fights....just epic. Watching Jin-Woo solo bosses or unleash his shadows never gets old. But... and here’s where I want to be real for a second.... if you’ve read the manhwa, you’ll definitely notice that some scenes are either cut entirely or condensed a lot. Sometimes you’ll get a whole stringof panels turned into a quick slideshow moment, or even just one fast scene. It’s not bad, but it does mean certain emotional or dramatic beats don’t hit as hard as they did in the webtoon.

That said, I get why they did it. The pacing of the anime is tight , they clearly wanted to keep the flow smooth and avoid dragging things out. And for new viewers who haven’t read the manhwa, it probably feels seamless. But for longtime fans, you might find yourself wishing they took just a bit more time with some of those iconic scenes.

Still, I’m not complaining too much. This is one of the better webtoon adaptations we’ve gotten. It respects the source, even if it trims it here and there. And honestly? Seeing Jin-Woo animated ... the power, the voice acting, the scale of the fights .... it’s totally worth it.

If you’re into dark fantasy, overpowered MCs, dungeon-crawling vibes, and a story that just keeps leveling up (literally), then yeah .... you need to watch Solo Leveling.

And hey, if you feel like some scenes flew by too fast, just take it as a sign to go read the manhwa after. Best of both worlds.
