Battle in 5 Seconds · review
Similar in quality to something like Darwin's Game, maybe even a bit better in some departments, but worse in others. I don't think Deatte 5-byou de Battle is anything special, but it's a death game executed decently well. I came from the anime, which was fine, but the animation was really horrid. Deatte 5-byou de Battle's manga art on the other hand, is just fine. Honestly, the art's not that great, but anything's better than the anime. The show features pretty much most scenarios that you would expect from a death game. Mysteries that the MC gradually gets to unfold as the story progresses aswell as a wide variety of different sorts of abilities that the MC and his group encounter. It honestly reminds me a bit like Jojo's, of course, the quality isn't nearly the same, but the manga does make use of how everyone has different abilities and applications of them, so you're always left wondering what the ability of the enemy is and how the MC's group manages to fight against them.
What do I think about the MC? Yeah, he has too much plot armor and he's kind of just smart on the level of bordering omnipotence, but hey, what kind of death game sort of manga does not have a lucky MC or super OP MC, come on now.
