Review of Whisper of the Heart
Country road... Take me home... to the place.... I belong.... West Virginia... mountain mama.... Take me home... country road... Quite an inspiring coming-of-age story. The main character was a middle school student who didn’t know what she wanted to do in life. She loved book and wanted to take this passion further. Also from this passion that she met a boy. The relationship, not only was it very sweet, motivated the main character to face her doubt and try out her passion. The central theme was that everyone had some form of passion or talent within them: at the beginning the talent is unfinished and rough, but one must know that it takes time to polish the talent or passion. When one can overcome their self-doubts, they will be able to find their own identity. I love the positive and hopeful theme of the story.
My problem with the movie was that it was very subdued and seemed like nothing much happened for a while. It definitely took its time, but still there were beautiful and happy moments.
Overall, an inspiring piece of art.
