I found Potemayo randomly when looking for more cute animes and it was a good find for what I was looking for. I like watching the weirdness and cuteness of Pote and Guchuko (GOAT), the others playing with them, the goofy/cute/endearing art and Sunao being a parent to Pote. the story is not at all important because any questions you may have will not be answered, it's just here to have fun, so have fun with it. the story only really hits hard in the last two episodes which I don't really like because it'll leave you wanting more (good thing there's specials) but God damnitI didn't expect to cry so much at the last episode thinking Pote and Guchuko actually died and that they were supposably some metaphor for parenthood and a bridge for sunao and his dad to come together more, but even though it wasn't that it was still very beautiful and had some hints of what I was thinking. Maybe I cried because it really is a topic that is close to my heart.
BUT you can have fun but that doesn't mean you can't question things because the real few gripes that I have about potemayo is a lot like the sonic movies/ show, which is that I don't care for the humans at all like Nene's and Mudou's relationship is something that isn't needed to even glance at and the other weird humor that just throws me off like the weird pedophilic jokes it has like Mudou (wost character) wanting to fuck Pote, Yasumi (second worst), pee jokes, and then theres the one guy that has the black face look.
Thankfully there's a fast forward button to just skip these stuff as most of it isn't important or quick.
Over all it's a very enjoyable and underrated anime with parts that I distaste but could just skip and sweep under the rug, it's so cute and beautiful.
