Look this is absolutely NOT a show for everyone, this is a action anime where most of the time absolute moments of the show are cutesy and/or comedic slice of life episodes and fillers with the side cast. This a series that despite playing in a wide and crazy world that it could've shown more of instead mostly plays within the same settings of random forest over and over again. This is a series where character development has to be held back or actively ignored so that it can somewhat follow the manga storyline. This is Boruto and I can't help but like it. It's a flawedseries without a doubt, again mostly it's the lack of character growth and often times constipated storylines that have to hold back on any large changes unless it involves anime exclusive side characters. However there is just something about it. No matter how many times I thought to myself that this show is legitimately just not very great, I kept watching.

Was it the surprisingly good fighting animation? Was it the ancient japanese aesthetics mixed with modern western aesthetics? Is it the large amount of cute girls and boys?...Oh, yeah. Yeah that's the one.

I like the characters, even if most of them do tend to be rather shallow. I like their designs and base personalities. I like how most of them aren't TOO stupid unless the plot demands for it and I like Himawari, like, a lot.

Do I reccomend watching it just for that? Uhm, not really. At least not for almost 300 episodes. Watch at least a good 20 or so episodes and if at any point you get bored feel free to drop it as the story does not actually develop for like 70% of the series. The SOL is genuinely neat but there are maaaaany other solely SOL focused series.
