Review of Space Dandy

I'm not really leaving a review, I'm just going to explain why the other reviews here have pissed me off. The gripe they have with Space Dandy is that it is not what they were expecting. That's it. If you read through the reviews, it quickly beocmes apparent most of them went in expecting Cowboy Bebop or a space adventure series with a 12 episode plot. Space Dandy is none of that. Like K-on is cute girls doing cute girls, Space Dandy is about a cool guy doing cool things. It is episodic and each episode is a ride in and of itself.That is what this anime is. You can't criticize it for not having an overarching plot in each episode because that's not what Space Dandy is.

The animation is a solid 10/10, the characters are rather static but they are great and fun to watch, and the story of each episode varies in genre and complexity but is almost always interesting. Space Dandy has 20 minute romances that outclass what other anime do in 24 episodes. It depicts the rise and fall of a galaxy-famous rockstar, a touching parental relationship between two unrelated people, and so much more. Its experimental animation and story-telling techniques could have flopped, but they didn't.

This is an anime you should watch and enjoy for what it is instead of complaining about what it isn't. Just skip season 2 episode 4, which is actually trash.
