Witch Meets Knight · review
I've got mixed feelings on this one, and you probably will too. Story: For the first half, the plot is unnecessarily hard to follow. The manga starts with a focus on someone who will become a minor character then goes to present day with the main love interests before spending most of the chapters flashing back to various things. I'm all for nonlinear storytelling, but that first part especially made it hard to know who to pay attention to. Chemistry: The main two characters have clear, compelling chemistry, enough to make the storytelling fumbles frustrating. Art: Decent main character designs are made confusing by side characters withsimilar designs. Expressions are limited as are backgrounds. Paneling is average.
I wanted to like this one more, but a single good component doesn't make up for other dropped aspects.
