For people who criticize the anime I advise you to give promise of wizards another chance. I played the game and the story is really good. However, we have to see how the rest will be animated. I agree that episode 1 was a little weird and that the beginning is a little slow but it's worth it. Also it's not from an otome game/ it's not reverse anime either. In the game we have the choice between the male and female MC, I suppose that since the male MC was chosen in the manga of promise of Wizard, the female was chosen for theanime. Also yes Akira is there MC but the story revolves more around the other characters.

EDIT : ok so now the anime is over. i really think that making 12 episodes was a really BAD idea and i think that 14 or 15 episodes would have been better. the animation leaves something to be desired certainly but coming from a studio that does not have a colossal budget it remains correct compared to episode 1. i enjoyed watching the anime as a player of the game even if i was disappointed in some parts. personally i advise you to make your own opinion on the anime and not expect an incredible anime if you plan to see it. it remains enjoyable and nice even if it has flaws. i hope that a season 2 will be planned however because it is true that introducing 21 characters at once is way too much and a season 2 would allow us to get to know them better.
