Spoiler warning

This review may discuss plot details.

****SPOILERS ALERT**** Generally, this Donghua animation is enjoyable. It has a number of elements I personally like: Martial Arts, Cultivation, and Alchemy. There are a few moments of comedy that actually made me LoL. There is also the standard mix of "guys want to kill the MC while all the girls fall in love with him and .. want to have a monkey with him" *sigh* There are also some big head-scratchers that made me lower the overall rating by a few points 1 - MC receives the inheritance of his Ancestor who was betrayed by his only love interest.. how one gets descendants in this scenario, noteven God knows.
2 - I'm not sure who started the MC template for arrogance, but it seems like "A Mortal's Journey..." is one of the few who give the MC a likable personality
3 - Here we have a "Formation Grandmaster" who.. almost never uses formations. This often results in most bad guys being able to run away / get away, or lets his friendly bystanders get hurt, or his family attacked while he's away etc...

There are enough good elements to keep one watching, while there are also a number of cringe worthy moments that make one want to *facepalm*
