Spoiler warning

This review may discuss plot details.

This manga makes absolutely no sense. This is probably what happens when you draw a manga just to try to get the reader's sympathy. The plot is your typical 'protagonist gets teleported into a game' plot. It's nothing special, and there's nothing wrong with boring usual tropes and an imitative world if the plot is then executed well. That's the problem. It isn't. Firstly, the main character is so illogical. Yuri, a 19 year old girl, is transported into a game that she is probably a veteran in. Her appearance becomes a loli and she becomes a 'sage'. This gives her extremely powerful magical abilities. These magicalabilities are clearly insanely powerful. But, she just barely uses them to their full potential despite having a developed neurocognitive system. Instead, she acts like a kid and depends entirely on others despite clearly having the abilities and knowledge to sustain herself. If I were her, I'd not depend on them entirely and instead actually strive to improve myself and help others in the way, and not act like an useless small kid that needs caring, especially if my goal is to return to my old world. Most battles could've ended so quickly if Yuri actually trained her magical skills and used them properly, instead of just sitting around and doing useless stuff instead of actually picking up a staff. There's also a scene where Yuri says she is starting to 'forget' her mother's, father's and big brother's face. Yet, she remembers every single detail about her game clearly. Tell me, would you ever forget about your family after moving out? No! Even after years of not seeing them entirely or not talking to them. So, I think that scene was just made up to get the reader's sympathy. Yuri is also way too weak mentally, yet never strives to improve herself and get out of her comfort zone. This just hinders her full potential. Yuri's entire personality feels like the author is desperately trying to get our pity. And from her passive actions, Yuki isn't even acting like that to get the character's care. She's suddenly genuinely like that now just because her appearance changed.

The side characters are preposterous as well. Though it makes sense that they'd want to try to protect a lost girl that they'd pick up, it makes no sense trying to tell her to abstain from using too much combat magic... instead of seriously training her. And also, you tell me. If a person in the 1800s saw you using a smartphone, what would be their first reaction? Exactly. They'd shiver in trepidation. These characters seem to be highly resistant to that, even when they saw a digital-looking magical screen that's not being held by anything. They also never showed the slightest hint to learn Yuri's way of doing shortened magic, or ever even got interested in testing Yuri's full capabilities. That behavior is just... not realistic, because humans are curious creatures, and are usually not cowards. All of the characters after seeing Yuri's magic just go: "what?", then, proceeds with: "meh, that's cool", and never asks about it again. There's also no character development at all from anyone. Also, do the kingdom just... not care? A generational prodigy appeared! Surely someone, maybe the sorcerer, or the captain, had to report Yuri to the king, or at least some higher-ups? No?? If they did, then why do the higher-ups just not care?

The worldbuilding is completely average, with a world and magic system you can find anywhere. It's probably even below the normal standard for that matter. The world is highly... non-reactive (as mentioned above about the higher-up phenomenon), and, the only real threat in the first arc is the monster swarm, which ended in the most anticlimactic way possible and gave no values or lessons to any of the characters at all. The story just goes back to routine slice of life after that and also plants a Chekhov's gun as usual. So why did they make us go through the arc?? It literally didn't even drive the plot forward in the slightest, except to provide a threat to the character and give her a small sense of threat and urgency. But then the entire thing started a month early and didn't even give time for Yuri to train if she ever wanted to.

The art is ok, though I don't prefer this style, the characters feel alive and the world feels decently vibrant. The pacing, though, is quick, but this isn't that big of a problem in this manga. Despite constantly trying to get our sympathy, it's actually decently battle-heavy, though these battles are very boring to read through.

The only positive thing I could find is that it does its thing really well, because this manga is really cute and this specific aspect is well-executed overall. The enjoyment value is actually fine because of this cuteness. But 'fine' is not good enough to salvage this mess. Read this if and only if you want to turn your brain off completely, and you are really craving cute stuff.
