I read this series all in one sitting. Madan no Ou to Senki has a vibe that is very similar to the Maouyuu series. I wouldn't call this manga a masterpiece, but everything was done very well and the read from chapter 1 to 51 was smooth and nothing bad stuck out. The battles are well illustrated/described and the transitions between strategy explanations and what was going on in the field made me want to keep turning the pages to see what would happen next. The villains are a tad generic, but this isn't really a problem unless you're really picky about that kind of thing. On aside note, the romance aspects are well timed and is refreshing among the majority of historical background scenes and battle tactics. The manga does end on a cliffhanger, however it was interesting enough that I will be going to the light novels to find out what happens next.

TLDR; Similar vibe to Maouyuu. Less complicated but by no means worse.
