8 /10

I highly recommend it. This one is an excellent example of how the simplest of stories can evoke deep emotions. It makes you ask questions and then pushes you to find the answers yourself. That may sound like a philosophical take, but that’s genuinely how I felt while reading this one-shot. Despite having one of the simplest plots, its emotional core was in the right place. Humans can be funny sometimes. Life, and our interactions with others, even with strangers, can feel deeply personal. Sometimes they give you hope; other times, they shatter your reasoning. Again, I know I’m drifting into philosophical territory, but this one-shot was justthat impactful.

So, why an 8 and not a 9 or 10?

It has its flaws. Fujino’s character could have been developed a bit more. Maybe just 2–3 extra panels exploring her personal side. I couldn’t fully empathize with her, and that held the story back from reaching a higher score. That’s why it’s an 8, not a 9 or 10.
