King of the Arena · review
Starts strong and keeps that momentum for most of the story. The main character’s goal and background are clear from the beginning, and his development actually fits his mentality, so nothing feels forced or out of place. The cast is one of its strongest points. Most characters get some kind of background, which makes them feel relevant instead of just being there for fights. Even the ones that aren’t exactly “good” are still interesting enough to care about. The characters are easy to get attached to, and the art is consistently great. The whole idea of comparing each fighter to an animal based on their style isa nice touch. It adds personality to the fights and helps each character stand out more.
It can get a bit unclear in the middle where the story is going, but by the end everything comes together in a way that feels natural.
It’s not a story you read to deeply analyze, it’s just meant to be enjoyed and it does that really well.
