Review of Deca-Dence

[Spoiler Free Review] Deca Dence has a lot going for it: an anime original with a great premise, solid world building, interesting characters, and quality production value. The only thing it is short on is time. Story: 7 Deca Dence has some fantastic ideas (and a cool plot twist!) that make the show really intriguing, including a very original power system. The show introduces several interesting themes, but it never has enough time to explore these concepts in depth. Its story can also be pretty predictable. Art and Sound: 9 The art looks great, especially during the action sequences. The soundtrack is really memorable and the voice actingis well done.

Characters: 9
Natsume and Kaburagi are AWESOME, with age gap enough to act like an adoptive father and daughter but they end up behaving like partners in crime. Natsume always steals the show when she is on screen and Kaburagi has some fantastic character development. There isn't enough time time explore too much with the side characters, but Jill and Minato were both very memorable.

Enjoyment: 8
It's a short show with interesting world building and a heartwarming relationship between the two leads. It may leave you wanting more, but what you have will still make you smile.

I'd recommend watching it, I just wish it had more time to shine.
