Review of given

FINALLY! An anime that could pass as mainstream with a decent lgbt character cast! 'Given' is a good example of what so many of us have been asking for. A decent anime with a healthy, bl relationship. No abuse, no underage crap, just a normal, healthy relationship. What's more, it's strictly romantic, so it's not one of those fan service platters either. The plot is definitely one of those classic lighthearted slice of life stories, so don't expect any sudden murders anywhere along the way. But overall, it somehow manages to keep your attention, just like a good slice of life should, and without suddenlosses of shirts to draw your attention back to the screen. Overall, Given is a rare gem that actually offers some decent representation for lgbt youths, without having the usual content that would have them hiding their screens as soon as someone enters the bedroom lol.
