Review of Please Put Them On, Takamine-san
Haite Kudasai, Takamine-san This series is a clear example of a fairly average ecchi anime: easy to watch, with an eye-catching premise, but not aiming to go much deeper. The story is simple and often absurd, yet it fulfills its role as light entertainment meant to pass the time. The plot revolves around a generic protagonist who lacks initiative or charisma, paired with a co-protagonist who fits the classic “popular and untouchable” schoolgirl archetype. While the series introduces a supernatural gimmick to stand out, it is mostly used as an excuse to repeat situations rather than as a meaningful narrative tool. Because of this, it is hardto truly connect with either character, as neither shows significant development.
The side characters have very little relevance and do not contribute much to the story, existing mainly to support fanservice rather than the plot. On the other hand, the visual aspect is the anime’s strongest point: both the art style and animation are well done and clearly know what the genre aims to deliver.
In conclusion, this is not a bad anime, but it is far from memorable. It falls short in many areas, and there are plenty of better options to watch first. It may be enjoyable for fans of the ecchi genre, but beyond that, it does not offer much. Score: 5/10.
