Review of Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel - II. Lost Butterfly
Heaven's Feel II is fantastic. It surpasses all 'anime' genre constraints and can be reasonably called "a fantastic film" as opposed to just a "fantastic anime film." It is unambiguously great. It's mostly a continuation of the story from Heaven's Feel I (surprising no one), and it swerves so far from Unlimited Blade Works in this that I hesitate to call them the same anime. The divergence in Heaven's Feel I was massive (nothing the same after the title sequence), but in this it just straight up changes genres. I'm a good Christian boy, so I can't root for premarital s*x, but this movie made meliterally cheer for it. This movie is a horror, a romance, a shounen, and a mystery. If any one of those is your deal, watch it. If you've seen UBW, watch the Heaven's Feel movies, its like getting another story for free. There's like nothing in common with UBW other than the characters. Before seeing the first two HF movies, my friend kept saying Sakura was best girl, and all I could do was be like "what, the purple haired girl in the show for like 2 seconds?" But when we watched HF I was converted. Sakura best girl. Also Shinji deserves to be [REDACTED] several times before being [REDACTED].
Watch Heaven's Feel I though, don't skip anything. And to watch Heaven's Feel I you need Unlimited Blade Works (the anime), and to watch Unlimited Blade Works you need either Fate/Zero or Fate/stay night (the anime), but don't watch Stay Night, because its trash. So basically commit yourself to 51 episodes of anime before even Heaven's Feel I.
