Review of Ranma ½

This anime is nice and entertaining, but it doesn’t adapt faithfully the manga and it doesn’t get it, so keep this in mind if you decide to watch it. If you want to approach Ranma 1/2 I personally recommend the remake or the manga, both of which I consider way better than the retro anime, the latter is still a valid product anyway. The versions of the characters, especially Ranma and Akane, proposed here are significantly mischaracterized, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but here, in my opinion, they are mischaracterized for the worse ... very complex and peculiar characters in the manga are flattened andthis also compromises the various interpersonal relationships between them.
Negative aspects are accentuated, some of which are anime only, but without any good reason and without any utility in the story and the themes it deals with, indeed...

Another thing in which this version does not excel is the way it shows the emotions of the characters, a problem that largely arises from what was said above.

Almost half of the anime is made up of fillers, some are good, others are not.
I will never understand the decision to make several fillers centered on Happosai, in the manga, even if controversial, he was a character that worked within the story, but here he becomes painfully terrible.
However, if you decide to watch it, in my opinion it doesn't make much sense to skip filler episodes.

The character design, in the first 18 episodes, is really good, then it progressively gets worse.

In conclusion: I won’t stop saying that the remake and especially the manga are clearly better to this anime, some anime adaptations that are not faithful to the manga can still be very beautiful (example: the retro anime of Urusei Yatsura) or even better than the manga, but this is not the case.
