Do you enjoy being confused? Do you like to get f*ed in the head? Great news, because this is the movie for you ! Paprika is not for everybody, it's as experimental as it gets and there are a lot of things going on a once, it's like the plot and the movie are running at full speed and you are helpless to catch up from the very beginning. Therefore, perhaps this is a movie for those who are passionate about experimental film, Satoshi Kon and also the world of sci-fi psychological thrillers. Paprika is a thriller first and foremost, there is a mission, there is anunknown antagonist and there is a purpose to the story. It's full of miraculous technology, all sorts of unpredictable characters and a plot where anything could happen at any point, nothing is decided and nothing can be predicted. It's amazing, seriously, what a world !

So you might be wondering, the 7 rating is a little low for how much I'm selling this movie and I think the reason for that is because to me it lacked any emotional depth, I didn't feel particularly invested in any of the characters and it didn't make me feel... anything. It was beautiful and amazing and spectacular but I couldn't connect to it very well. Just like the western copy by Nolan, Inception, it felt so perfect and masterful yet hollow and without feeling at the same time.

But even though, it's definitely something everyone should watch once in their lives. It's just TOO good to pass up and I think I recommend watching this film when you're in the mood for a lot of concentrating because it will require all your attention !
