Review of Katanagatari

Similar to Bake and Nisemonogatari this is another anime created by Nisio Isin that has heavy dialogue and thrives on interactions between characters blah blah blah, we've all heard this before. We follow the story of Togame and Yasuri Shichika who, in there long journey, need to find all 12 deviant blades. Almost every episode is them trying to gain another sword and there adventure while Shichika learns more about fighting and Togame learns more about strategies in fighting, as she was the strategist of this group. For the main chracters I have to say I really did like Shichika, he is quite different frommany main leads as he is almost new to the world he is beginning to explore as he has never seen anyone other than his sister and father up until his first mission with Togame, making him an interesting character. As for Togame she was the smarts of the group although I didn't like her that much as she had the personality of a child up until the very end of the show. As for side characters, I honestly didn't understand the point of the maniwani group, they honestly felt like the team rocket of this anime where they would always end up losing in every episode. My few favorite side characters were Enmonzaemon and Maniwa Houou as they proved to be formidable opponents with great fighting scenes and they were overall just great characters in general. This anime hits its high points near the end of the show as it takes a huge turn in a different direction, but still managed to keep it very entertaining. The episodes are 50 minutes long which was a little annoying at times because some episodes kept me bored while others kept me entertained. The action in this show is great but the plot might seem like it was completely pointless up until the end of the show. I would recommend this anime and honestly if it was a little shorter I think it would have been better, but that's just my opinion. If you liked Bakemonogatari than you will thoroughly enjoy this as well. Overall score: 7/10
