YAYYY!!! FIRST REVIEW EVAR :D So why not start off a new month by writing my first review?? I promise it's not an April Fool's joke when I tell you how much I was surprised by how much I actually enjoyed this series. Now I'm usually the type of guy that shies away from coming of age drama shows (a crime I know D;), but I'm not gonna lie...when I first heard the the intro song "Aoi Shiori" as a random recommend YT video, I've been intrigued by what type of series would use such an calming, yet melancholic tune for their opening. Well letme just say that the intro song perfectly describes the tone that pretty much carries for the entire show. The plot itself was easy to follow and I enjoyed the aspects of friendship and grieving the most. The characters weren't over the top annoying or stale as bread boring. I'd probably say that Poppo and Tsurumi were the two characters that stood out to me due to how kind hearted and relatable they were respectively. It was refreshing to be able to watch a series from time to time that strayed from the typical power of friendship, booty pull power ups, and pervy heart eyes/nosebleeds that I've been accustomed to. I can honestly say there really isn't anything that I particularly disliked about the show, except maybe the pacing could be a bit slow at some parts that made it a bit of a drag to get through. The MC did get a tad bit on my nerves with the way he handled trying to prove Menma's ghost.
This type of show will help you to gain some introspection on the how the impact of the death of a close friend/loved one can change the relationship dynamic(s) of those immediately affected by it the most. It's a show that left me feeling nostalgic, yet emotionally healing in a way that not even Chicken Soup for the Soul books can compare. I would definitely recommend this to someone looking to watch something that caters to the more "human" sides of anime.

Sorry for lack of format in my review. This is the first time I'm writing a review of well...literally ANYTHING. I promise I'll get better at writing once I post more.
