I was initially not planning to talk about Boin after seeing it as it felt like a mediocre hentai all things considered however I felt it was necessary as I was going to write about it’s sequel Resort Boin. Although Resort Boin is a sequel, it is not necessary to watch Boin as it sets up only two girls of the large cast which speaks to the difference in quality between the two. Straight of the bat, I wouldn’t recommend Boin however if you have watched it then if the quality disappointed you I would highly recommend you continue the series with Resort Boin howeverif you did enjoy it then Resort Boin will be even better.

Story : 5.3

The story of Boin is not especially strong, with only a single weak gimmick to support it, when viewed critically the story could not stand on its own two feet. Nothing was especially bad or disturbing about Boin’s story however it stood out as aggressively mediocre in the space of hentai where the standard is to have some supernatural element or pandering to a certain fetish or just being plain disturbing however Boin has none of that. No part of Boin’s story would put a viewer off however no part makes the viewer stay so while Boin’s story is not bad it is not particularly good either and thus it gets a 5.3 as that seems like a fitting pairing between an aggressively mediocre story and an aggressively mediocre number.

Art and Animation : 5

Something felt very off with the character faces, body proportions and general motions. Although I will give away a tiny bit of leniency, looking at the sequel the art and animation are worlds apart so considering they were released a year from each other there is little the argument ‘It’s an older hentai’ can do for it unfortunately. Much like the other aspects of the show, animation is no different in being a total let down

Characters : 5

Much like the story, the characters are also very cookie cutter at best and at worst don’t have much of a personality. Everything felt bland despite the incessant moaning and I blame that more on how the show was structured without much dialogue and putting more emphasis on selling the sex which is rather unfortunate with regards to how I choose to experience my hentai.

Overall Boin is an unnecessary chapter in the series, adding nothing to its much better sequel and is very honestly not worth the watch. It contributed nothing to my life and felt like a waste of time however it did lead me to watching Resort Boin so I guess there’s always some silver lining to a bad hentai, whether it’s traumatizing you into reevaluating your life or helping you find much better hentai
