This may come as an extreme embarrassment, but the first anime I've ever cried to was Angel Beats. Yeah. Anyways, since then, I've tried to make sure that I don't cry to an anime ever again. It just pains me too much thinking back to the time when I cried to Angel fucking Beats. Anohana was the second (and last) anime I've cried to, and I'm not embarrassed about this one. Anohana was beautiful. From the art to the character design to the plot and story, everything was amazing. Anohana showed us the death of Meiko, and how all of her friends were affected by itin their own way. We see Jinta, who ended up being an outcast and a shut in after the death of Meiko. We see Tetsudou as he smiles and acts all silly, almost as if he had forgotten about Meiko. Then we see the utmost remorse he's hidden from view, and how he still holds on the sin he's done deeply in his heart. We see Atsumu, who later becomes popular in school and everything thought that he didn't have anything bad going for him. Then we see him at his worst, where he's shown still clinging onto the last thing that represents Meiko, and how broken he truly is.

Anohana was a beautiful anime that made me cry. And I'm not ashamed of it.
