Review of Bakemonogatari

I will be quite honest, when I first ventured into the Monogatari universe I didn’t know what to think. At many instances I almost had to stop and ask myself what the f*ck...is this allowed?? To be quite honest you have to have a high IQ to understand what Monogatari says about the society we live in, so if you’re a dummy and you know it don’t even bother… Story 9/10 At first you are very confused but you just have to shut off your brain and let it consume you. Put aside all pre existing notions of any vampire anime’s you’ve seen because Monogatari does whatall the other girls wish they could.

Art 9/10
Every character has a broken neck but i’m not mad about it...the constantly changing scenes and paragraphs that you have to read in 3 seconds contribute to the greatness of it all.

My beautiful tsundere queen senjoughara, big t*ddy genius cat mom hanekawa and athletic androgynous masochist suruga. This female, patriarchy crushing, feminist, pro LGBTQ+, cast really cannot get better than this...no I don’t think you understand i’m OBSESSED

I actually liked the fact that there were only 4 people that attended the high school because naturally it gave you more time to get to know each character in depth. Why waste time drawing irrelevant people lol the creators are geniuses for this one.

Sound 9/10
All I can say about the OST and ED are that they're brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, I really don't know a better soundtrack.

overall this show goes under my rating of “shows to watch if you want to experience acid without actually doing acid”
