Bakemonogatari is a great work of art, that left me hungry for more as soon as I finished it, filling me with an insatiable lust to consume more of this franchise. (and I will, as soon as my friends catch up to me) Bakemonogatari shows how wonderful perfectly executed dialogue between characters can be. With most of the show just being people talking to each other, it was important that the characters were both well written and interacted with each other naturally. And they do, pretty much every character is special in their own way, and seeing them interact with each other can be a treat. ButBakemonogatari's greatness extends further, with the less-talkative scenes where the characters are battling apparitions or doing other things are still great. The apparitions as a whole are great, feeling mysterious and magical, like a chest without a key, containing special secrets too complex for us to understand.

The art in this show can be a mixed bag sometimes. Overall I love the style with its crisp lines and solid colors. It's very striking, and makes an impact. The shot composition is also wonderful, giving me a feeling that is so wholey Bakemonogatari. But there are times where its style can look pretty ugly. Luckily those times are a small minority compared to the rest of the show.

Final point: the music in this show goes hard. Everybody has heard Ren'ai Circulation, and for good reason, its a good song. Every song in Bakemonogatari is, from the mysterious ambient music that plays during the show to the ED- "Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari," which is one of my favorite songs in general.

Bakemonogatari is a work of art, and you should watch it too.
