Despite the plethora of reviews on this show, I wanted to make some points I haven’t seen. This show is excellent at balancing elements. The balance between action and political strategies is perfect, and they compliment each other beautifully. The politic stuff leading up to the fighting is hard to understand for someone who doesn’t know much about politics (me) but despite that you can still understand where everyone is coming from. The balance between all the characters is also a work of art. This show has a LOT of characters, a LOT. But again, despite this they’re able to give each character just the perfect amountof screen time.

The animation may be outdated, but it gives the the show an extra sense of flair. The strong lines and bright colors fit the shows characters, and the tone as well. Lelouche’s weird hand movement wouldn’t be the same without it.

Drama usually leaves me dreading the next episode, but Code Geass, having a LOT of drama, somehow manages to make me excitedly clicking on the next episode.

One thing that really stuck out about Code Geass for me, is just when you think that the show is reaching its final climax, it’s finale, you see just how many episodes are left.
You’re thinking, “how can this show get any crazier from here?”
And it does. It gets crazier every episode, and it never gets old. It adds more and more but instead of dragging it down, it makes it better and better. The more it adds the more you realize how connected everything is.

The characters are the best part of the show. So many to choose from, yet I cannot pick a favorite. All their individual character arcs wrap up perfectly in the end. Not one character is wasted.

Another thing that stuck out to me, is how little Lelouche used his geass. It only becomes a main focus of the show in the second half of the second season. It allows us to see how brilliant he is, and how he probably could’ve done all this even without geass.

10000000/10
