Review of Durarara!!

I remember trying to watch this anime in high-school, and every time I would pick it up I'd never make it past the third episode... I was into the mystery/supernatural so I'm surprised I never finished it. Now, let's get right into the anime basics! Story; First year Highschooler Mikado moves to the busy city of Ikebukuro because of an invitation from his childhood friend Masaomi. Mikado has always longed for an exciting life... so a city with a scary insurance broker, are bartender with a muscle power of a gorilla, Russian sushi and a headless black rider there's no way for an exciting life. Seeall the unexplainable situations these kids get themselves into, just how crazy Ikebukuro is and how legends can be closer then they seem. Art; loved the style of the animation. The creepy faces, dreary nights, smoke coming from peoples necks... beautiful! (and who doesn't love a Studio called "Brain;s Base") Sound; 10/10 would listen to this soundtrack again! Trying to find the first ending "Complication" on YT Music was a pain in the butt though. Characters; This whole anime was about the characters. Their backstories, why they're currently reflecting their pasts and what they want to do to make things better. In all honesty, they weren't my favourite part of the anime... slightly boring. I loved the Erika and Walker duo (mainly because I saw the two as my boyfriend and me), and Shizuo's complicated but simple to understand past.

Overall, I enjoyed this anime and glad I could finally pick up the series! I always put it off, and I don't know why. Maybe it was because all the episodes at the beginning that just kept introducing new characters and giving no context to why until s few more episodes in (Ikebukuro and all the characters were connected in some way, whether they wanted to be or not)
I will be continuing this series, and I'm hoping in the next season we get to learn more about "Dotachin" AKA, Kyouhei Kadota. He would be related to every situation, would save anyone in a heart beat and... looks so good without that damn scarf/hat!
