Review of Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day
A show with flaws, that are forgotten by the human that this anime can be. I'm glad I "found" this anime Story 8 l Art 7 l Sound 9 l Character 9 l Enjoyment 9 l Overall: 8.4 but the feels give a 8.5 So this one has a kind of unique story, that sends us toour childhood memories where everything was simple, where friendship was the one of the few things that really matter.
So what's good about this show?
The story without spoiling anything to much, mainly revolves around a teenage boy name Jinta and his group of friends, or "former" friends, several years prior they used to be friends but after the unfortunate death of their best friends called Menma, they all grew apart and go separate ways, until one day Jinta is haunted by Menma ghost which only he can see, and in order to rest in peace she need to accomplish a wish she doesn't remember.
The sound, this is one of the best things Anohana does, what a way to make an song get to you heart in every moment, amazing one of the best endings that I've heard and the way it was implemented in this anime was stunning.
The characters, at first the characters kind of feel so unrelatable at first, but as the series progresses they become more enjoyable to watch, one of the things that Anohana does great is that this characters doesn't feel like an anime character but they feel like a real person, seeing that the motivation of their actions are based on their selfishness, and how they deal in present time with the death of their childhood friend we got to see each of the characters background and personalities that we didn't see at first. We get to see of them which imo it's gold.
The enjoyment I had while watching this anime was amazing, this anime is a trainwreck of emotions, It may be flawed in some aspects, but without seeing to much of it, it has a really unique story, with relatable characters and just over the top feelings.
This a heartwarming story that will tear you apart at the end of it, so glad I "found" this anime
