Review of Bakemonogatari
This is my first review, so bear with me. This anime was easily a great masterpiece. The story is always mysterious and kept you wondering what would happen next. Its a great suspense, and amazing cast of characters helps to tell the story. Story: The story is great, and oddly unique. Its episodes that run by parts relating to separate characters isn't the unique part, but the flow of the story is very real. Its a good, realistic flow of events that you wish you got in other anime. Art: The art is outstanding. It not top notch or the most amazing animation ever, but the animation fits the storyline. For me, the look is half the battle, and though animation doesn't tell the story, it plays a big part in the production as a whole. In this case, the art really helped keep me tuned into the story. I really have no complaints in the art section.
Sound:
The anime could have done more with the soundtrack and all the noises, but i think the little soundtrack that they had in place fit the feeling of the anime. It wasnt overly happy, or overly sad, it was a playfully mysterious soundtrack.
Characters:
The characters are all very diverse and i couldn't be happier. They all complement each other quite well. You've got the guy who never knows whats going on, but is reliable when the time call; the hard headed girl that doesnt wanna show much emotion, but does so only the one she loves; the playful and flirty friend who deep downs wants the protagonist dead but is playing around with him; the lovable little girl who likes to poke fun at people, and the childhood friend who has a crush on the guy. They all develop really well, especially Araragi. His growth is noticeable throughout.
Enjoyment:
Overall, it was a great watch. There couldn't be anything better then a uniquely plotted story with great flow, amazing animation, suspenseful music, likeable characters, and awesome outting.
Faults:
The biggest, BIGGEST fault that made me stop watching this anime for a few months...
WAS THE FINAL EPISODES.
Because they werent aired, you had to wait for them to come out online. But did they any time soon? no. The 13th and 14th did, but the 15th took a long time. So long, that i was able to finish 9 anime shows while i was waiting. By the time it came out and got subbed, i was forced to rewatch the anime just so i could understand what was going on at the end. It was ridiculous. I didnt mind watching it again, but to watch the whole thing ONLY to watch the last episode was a bother. Which is why i wont ever watch another anime again until it is fully done.
