Review of Akira

Akira is one of the most famous anime movies of all time. I can't even count how many times it has been recommended to me. So at last I decided to watch it. But why am I a little bit of disappointed? This movie is number 240 in the top 250 movie list on IMDb, which I think is a pretty big deal. The anime on my account was good not great. The way I have heard its praises, the reality really didn't meet the goal. The first 15 minutes of the movie is so boring that I almost decided to just leave it. The animationis really bad. Well it can be considered since it was made in 1988. But still it doesn't make the movie any better. In the whole movie there was this suspense about Akira, who he really is, what's his power etc. But when Akira did appear, the moment was very disappointing for me.

This movie was suppose to be a masterpiece. I don't think it is. But that's my opinion. I heard a new version of this movie is coming. I am hoping that the better animation will certainly make the movie better.
