Review of Katanagatari

This is not your usual anime, it is so much more.To anyone who normally watches the typical shounen anime (Naruto, Bleach, Inuyasha) like me, I would recommend this anime as a nice change. You will not be disappointed. At first the story begins simply with the search for 12 swords but there is a much deeper plot involved. The character development, different situations and personalities that they encounter along the way tie in to present a great story. Each episode is roughly an hour long so you can consider the 12 episodes to be more like 24. There is a lot of dialogue involved but it's mixedwith a fair share of action and comedy. You will come to fall for the two main characters Shichika and Togame as well as the odd sword wielders that they face.

The artwork is stunning and adds greatly to the appeal of the anime and was one of the main reason why I decided to watch this anime. To me if so much effort is placed into drawing and animation, then it should not disappoint and it did not.
