Review of Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day
This is a story about a group of of friends who grow up and find themselves slowly growing more and more distant from each other. The plot in this story is rather unusual, yet pretty simple. Its a slice of life at the core, but not as you might expect. The mood of the show is sad, depressed, and sometimes lonesome, but can be heartwarming too. The art is rather simple, animation is average. Voice acting has its ups and downs, there are great moments and not so great ones. Characters are also hit or miss, some are very good some seem plain. If Ihad to say something bad about this show it would be the lines and dialogue. Sometimes lines don't fit character's personalities that well, as if characters suddenly act out of character. Lines sometimes disappoint in key scenes where impact is expected. The art in backgrounds (mainly) as well as characters has a slight lack of detail, its definitely not bad, but it could be better. If I had to name something good about this show it would be the music. Soundtracks and BGM really have a heavy feeling to it. The flow of the story has a way of being believable, events are lined up in a neat order of events. I give it a 8.9/10
TLDR Version: Depressing show. Weak lines sometimes. Fitting music. Buy tissues.
