Black Lagoon In order to get away from Anime in which morality is always positively brought into focus, this work is the right choice. Action, explosions, swearing, brutality, murder, drugs - this is the main theme here. You get an insight into a world in which the morals of ordinary people sound like an amusing dream. This title stands out pleasantly from the norm and tries something of its own. The protagonist, who is torn from his harmless yet strict world, has to work as a member of a super-criminal gang. His moral views are completely turned upside down. He has to adapt to the world in whichhe is now or to perish. The focus is fairly balanced on the violent action, as well as on detailed conversations and monologues.

What clearly missed the factory was the tension curve. The episodes have been made interesting. However, no tension could build up and you had no drive to look further, apart from curiosity.

The characters weren't that "likeable", but they weren't daunting either. It was difficult to really connect with them.

Story:

Very double-edged. An interesting kind of narrative. However, there is hardly a common thread that is pursued. Different events and everyday work of the gang. Weight is probably more about building the characters than the actual plot-

Animation / pictures:

For 2006, more than solid. Attractive, mostly fluid and powerfully animated. Gives enough still pictures of course, but still remains well above the average at that time.

Characters:

As I said, there were no great personalities worth mentioning, nor were they sympathetic. However, it was interesting to follow the development of the protagonist.

The characters kept their approach rather realistic and did not correspond to clichéd dere-types.

Music:

Adequate. But nothing overwhelming. However, appropriate to the content.

My conclusion

The anime "Black Lagoon" undoubtedly provides great variety. Can be entertaining just as well, but it doesn't create any real incentive.
