Review of School Days
This anime takes a certain type of person to enjoy it. It requires you to be able to lose all hope and continue for no reason. If you have chronic depression, such is the case with most people on this site, you should be able to get through it just fine. I enjoyed this anime only because of how miserable of a train wreck it was. The main character gets many chances to redeem himself only to be an absolute asshole. The females are attracted to the main character like he is some sort of mortal god, and will do anything despite knowing that whatthey are doing is wrong. One of the things I liked the most about the anime was all the characters telling the mc that what he was doing was wrong and exactly what to do to fix the issues. As the watcher in the beginning, you will hear these suggestions from other characters and think "Man, it would really be great if he did that." You will be met with a cold disappointment that is so visceral that you will eventually be numb. In the end you will realize that the entire story is meant to be awful and for you to hate, so when you realize that your only option is disappointment and pain, it is accompanied by bliss. The ending while, shocking, will only provide you with and sense of partial justice for what the main character has done, and will leave you with a sense of sorrow, yet indifference, as for the most part, in the real world you will have to suffer too.
