Review of Neon Genesis Evangelion

Evangelion is an anime that is near and dear to my heart. if i was to write a review on this i would probably accidentally just write a scene by scene playout of the whole anime which isn't very helpful so ill just say this. Evangelion pioneered many popular anime tropes and set the stage for how a lot of modern anime portray themes and characters in their shows. the animation is fantastic and the characters are real and you form bonds with them that last through the whole show as your view of each character evolves. in just 25 episodes (and a movie) evangelion captures thehuman experience of loneliness and self hatred and tries to spin it using its characters to show how things, no matter how bad, can get better. how everyone can get better no matter what life has thrown at them till this point.
this isn't an anime for everyone by any means but for those who dont want to feel alone, evangelion is for you
