Neon Genesis Evangelion Director: Hideaki Anno Music by: Shiro Sagisu Hugely experimental and outstandingly different, Neon Genesis Evangelion is an absolute masterpiece. Story (10/10): It is the year 2015, fifteen years after a worldwide catastrpohic event ( the Third Impact) in the city New Tokyo-3. The main character is Shinji Ikari, a fifteen year old boy who was recruited by his father to the organization NERV to pilot a giant bio-machine mecha called an "Evangelion" and fight against alien beings called "Angels". The series explores the events of Shinji and the other characters and how they continue to live on in life and how theytry to exterminate all Angels on the planet in order to stop the Fourth Impact (another disaster on Earth).

Art (10/10): The art and animation provided by GAINAX is absolutely stunning and the best animation GAINAX has ever produced in the history of their studio which is now sadly defunct.

Music (10/10): The series score composed by Shiro Sagisu (who would later compose the music for the Berserk film trilogy with Susumu Hirasawa) is wonderful. It grips you emotionally and glues your eyes into the screen while watching Evangelion. There is truly no man like Shiro Sagisu when it comes to composing music. There are only two composers that are in my opinion better than him and they are Susumu Hirasawa and Yoko Kanno. He is truly amazing.

Characters (10/10): i don't want to give any spoilers so I'll just say that the characters are great. Go watch the anime and you'll see exactly what I mean.

Enjoyment (10/10): I loved watching Evangelion and when it was over, I wished there was more episodes but I was satisfied with what they had given us (much like how I felt after watching Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Berserk, and GTO).

Overall (10/10): Neon Genesis Evangelion is an amazing masterpiece and one of the greatest anime of all-time. I will most definitely rewatch the series when it comes to Netflix in Spring 2019. I highly recommend this series. A+.
